I was flipping channels last week and found Hancock showing on HBO. I hadn’t liked the movie much when it had come out last year but I sat and watched the whole thing again nonetheless. Surprisingly, I found it a lot better this time around. Charlize Theron looked a little off colour, but on the whole, the movie made a little more sense to me this time around. Come to think of it, I was probably sloshed the last time I saw it. Must have been one of those alcoholic Sundays. Anyway, the story was pretty decent and like I said, it all began to come together.

Will Smith and Charlize Theron are immortal superheroes who only have one weakness – each other. Thats right, being around each other causes them to weaken and become fairly mortal. Its poignant because they’re married and all, but can’t spend too much time in close proximity. In the end, the hero takes to the skies never to be joined by his partner again. Poor lonely superhero. The name of the film makes so much sense now.
